A Couple of Layouts

For my DT work over at Scrapbooking Haven.
I was supplied a love pack of Prima Jack and Jill papers, with Prima flower and butterfly pack, Prima stamp set, Scrapware chipboard doily and ribbon.
So first up I created this page
I know I have used this photo of my mum and her sisters before but just so wanted to use it again. This paper range is so gorgeous that it is suitable for not just photos of kids but adults too. I made the flowers out of 1" punched circles and folding them into the center, rather like the look of these flowers.
Next up is another layout using the Jack and Jill paper range.
Again I used another old photo this one of my mum when she was in her early twenties. Loved matting all the layers, it gives the layout a very bold striking effect. And how cute is that Prima stamp Amy provided in my kit :) Thanks for stopping by!

Altered Chipboard and Layering

That was Debi technique challenge over at Soul Scrappers. So I created this layout using a photo of my nanna.
Has you can see lots of layering and for my altered chipboard I used crackle paint. Here is a close up.
Loved the vintage look to this page. TFL

Soul Scrappers Quest #7

Over at Soul Scrappers we have challenge every month or so that is called Soul Scrappers Quest. What happens is each person that sign up is sent a little bag of goodies that they have to use on their creation, now this can be a card, a layout or OTP.
Well anyway I signed up for this one and when i got my little bag of goodies I thought OMG what am I going to create with these things...so after much thinking, pushing/moving and procrastination I finally created a page that I am fairly happy with.
The bag of goodies included: 2 buttons, 1 chip piece, 1 quote, 1 group of sticker, 1 doily, 2 4x4 pieces of paper, 2 pieces of ribbon, 1 paper clip, 4 rhinestones, 1 water can picture & 1 fabric flower.
So here is my page, I decided to go with a format of 8.5'x 12'.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Decorated Tin

It seems like forever since I last posted but I am sure it hasn't been, life does get busy at times.
So what do I have to share with you today. I made this decorated tin to fill with Easter eggs for my grand daughter today.
Might have to adjust the material strips on the handle, they seem to be a bit bulky now looking at the photo here. I used a small Prima tin, but I think using a larger paint tin would be great for filling on an Easter egg hunt.
So that is all I have for you today :)

Off Duty Angel!

I saw a layout by Leeann Pearce that really caught my eye, you can see it here, it is called "Any given day".
It was so colourful and bright I knew I just wanted to try creating something very similar and this is what I came up with...
It was perfect for Belinda's colour challenge at Scrapz. Love the bright colourful arty look to this page.
Next up I did another page using my DT kit from Scrapbooking Haven, using Kaisercraft Magic Happens.
On this layout "I wish, I wish'' I punched out lots of flowers, double layered them, pinched the leaved together and sprayed them with mist. Also pulled out my crackle paint for the fence, I think I need a new bottle it didn't work to well.
And last up is a digital I did for week 6 of the Glee Club challenges at Soul Scrappers. The theme is "golden Oldies' and we had to use a Buddy Holly song for the title.
I scrapped a photo of my mum taken in the 1950's and the title "Everyday". I went with a very soft feminine colour combo. So that is all I have to share for now, thanks for stopping by :)

What I did today...

I made a few more things out of my March DT kit form Scrapbooking Haven
First up is a layout using lots of Kaisercraft Magic Happens papers, elements and chipboard. Also Kaiser paper flowers and a touch of Prima bling.

Misted the background and inked the edges of all the papers etc. Here are a couple of close up...

Used lots of foam tape the give this page a 3D look.
Next I made a birthday card using some of the off cuts that were sitting on my desk.
This card is on its was to a friend tomorrow, hope she likes it! Gosh hope I haven't bored you to much with all these blog posts today. Thanks for stopping by :)

My Second Layout

for my DT position at Scrapbooking Haven.
Used lots of yummy Kaisercraft Magic Happens, paper blooms and Prima bling.
Did lots of layering, stitching and distressing. Also misted and paint splattered the background paper. I found this paper range a bit on the hard side to work with as it is a bit too purple for my liking...
Here are some close up to show the details.

I double layered the butterflies to give them a bit more depth, top layer is punched out velum. Tulle just seemed the right thing to use with this photo so I tied a few knots in a strip then twisted a pearl string around it. I also had these SEI iron-on fussy transfers which you can see in the second last close up shot, just above the 'she' word. A bit scary ironing on a layout that has most of the details stuck in place, thought I was going to burn something and ruin it. Overall I am pleased with how this page turned out :)

Some Digital Pages

I have created both of these digital pages for challenges over at Soul Scrappers
First up is my page for Mary's challenge, had to scrap about someone special in our lives, a black and white either of a parent or grandparent. So I scrapped about my dad, used a photo that was taken in 1953 (I think).
I wanted to create a very outdoor vintage page here to suit the photo.
Next is my take on Justene's sketch challenge.

A lovely sketch to work with. These photos of Summah were taken on my iphone when we stopped for a break on a long trip to attend a family function. She so loves baby chino, lol...

Another Page

for my album 'my place in the sun'.
We had to research about the history of our area, so this is what I created.
I wanted the focus to be on the journaling so I kept the page fairly simple. Thanks for stopping by.
